- What are EV charging tariffs?
Tariffs are the different ways we set prices for charging your electric vehicle (EV). Depending on the station you use and the type of plan you have, prices may vary to fit your charging needs, so you’re only paying for what you use.
Consider what type of driver you are: do you regularly travel long distances and charge frequently, or do you prefer a flexible solution for occasional public charging? Whatever your needs, we have the right options for you. For more information on available tariffs, please visit our Tariff page.
- What are the different types of fees?
When you charge your EV, a few different costs might apply. Here’s a breakdown of the most common ones, but it does not mean that you will be charged with these fees all the time. It is however good to be aware of what fees there could possibly be:
- Charging fee: This is the main cost and consists of either the energy (measured in kWh) your vehicle uses during a charging session or the amount of time you charged your EV for. The faster the charging speed, the higher this fee may be at certain stations. Especially if you have a tariff without base fee, always make sure to check the applicable fees on the map.
- Tariff activation fee: A one-time tariff activation fee is a single, upfront charge that drivers might have to pay to access a specific tariff offered by Charge myHyundai.
- Monthly base fee / Subscription fee: Some plans offer lower energy rates in exchange for a monthly subscription fee. This base fee will appear on your monthly invoice.
- Session fee: Some charging stations charge a small, flat fee every time you start a charging session. This is separate from the cost of the energy itself.
- Blocking fee: If you leave your vehicle connected to the charger for too long after it’s fully charged, an extra fee may apply. This helps keep chargers available for other drivers. Always make sure to check the possible blocking fees on the map.
- Roaming fee: If you charge in another country, there might be a small extra charge for using a network outside your home country.
- Tips for keeping charging costs manageable
Check station details: Before starting a charging session, look at the details for that station in the app or on our website's map. You will see costs, speed, and any additional fees.
Monitor your charging time: Disconnect your vehicle once it’s charged to avoid blocking fees.
Use package options (if available and beneficial): If you’re a frequent user, subscribing to a package might save you money on energy costs each month.
